Tell me more about the host
I’m Jacki, the designer behind The Woolly Badger. I’ve been knitting for more than a decade, designing for a few years, and teaching online workshops since lockdown. You can see what I’m up to on Instagram, and check out my designs on Ravelry.
Where’s the workshop taking place?
The workshop is happening at the lovely Creative Space on North Street, Bedminster, Bristol. It’s a dedicated space just for creative workshops like this one.
Will there be any refreshments?
I’ll be bringing along lots of tea and biscuits for us all, because tea, knitting, and a nice sit down are the best things in life. And since it’s Christmas, there’ll be mince pies and mulled wine for all (including gluten-free mince pies, because nobody should miss out on that mincemeat-y joy.
What’s included in the price?
The ticket price includes the pattern, a set of 10mm needles, and red and white yarn. You’ll also get all the refreshments I mention above, and your ears will be treated to a load of festive songs. Think Mariah, Shakin’ Stevens, Slade…Spotify and I will be going all in.
How good do I need to be at knitting?
You need to be a competent beginner to get the most out of the class. There’ll be the option to knit the hat flat, and then sew it up at the end, or to knit it in the round, depending on which you’re most comfortable with. And we’ll all be making pompoms to go on the end, but that’s way easier than it looks.
