Learn to knit a jumper – aka Sweater School

Four session course, No Frills Knitting, Bedminster

Course dates: Tuesday 11 Jan, Tuesday 25 Jan, Tuesday 8 Feb, Tuesday 1 March

Always wanted to knit yourself a sweater, but a bit intimidated by the whole concept? Come along to this four-session knitting course at the wonderful No Frills Knitting shop in Bedminster, Bristol, and let me guide you through the process.

Over the course of the sessions we’ll be covering everything you need to know to knit a jumper that you absolutely love. Starting with understanding fit, construction, and choosing a size, we’ll then work through all the knitting skills your jumper pattern calls for.

And we won’t all be knitting the same jumper; you pick the pattern you want, and bring that and your choice of yarn (or make use of the discount available at No Frills Knitting for all workshop attendees). You’ll then have me, a professional knitwear designer and knitting teacher, on hand to help you make sense of it all.

With plenty of tea, and snacks available, it’s a lovely way to spend a few evenings. And trust me, there’s nothing like the smugness of “this sweater? Oh, I made it myself.”

If you’ve got any questions about the sessions, or want to chat through potential patterns before booking, get in touch.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is perfect for advanced beginners who want to take on their first sweater pattern.

What will we be making?

You’ll make your choice of sweater – so it can be for you, a friend, a kid, or whoever.

Here’s how it works: you choose the sweater you want to make, get a copy of the pattern, and buy the yarn you want to use. Bring those along to the sessions and you’ll get all the help you need to make your lovely sweater a reality.

Can I get help picking a sweater pattern?

Absolutely. Just drop me a line and I’ll be happy to help you pick out something. Equally, if you’ve got a sweater in mind but aren’t sure if it’s suitable for a first time sweater knitter, let me know and we can work that out together.

What’s included?

The cost of a ticket includes tuition, tea, coffee, and loads of lovely snacks.

Can I get a discount on yarn?

You can indeed. The lovely Meg at No Frills Knitting is offering all course attendees a discount on yarn purchased for the sessions. Either drop her a line, or drop in to the shop and see her to find out more.
